Two good pals

Two good friends wanted to learn something, so they sought out a master. For three years, the master barely taught them anything solid so they asked leave to go home. The master then permitted them and told them to be determined at whatever they wanted to do.

So the two good pals were heading home when they reached a swamp. They felt hungry and started to scoop water out hoping to get some fish. The water finally ran dry and yet no fish were found. One of the guys gave up but the nother thought of the master's final words - to be determined. So he kept on digging the earth and found a pot of gold. Happily they carried the gold pot home and hid it in the garden. The lazier of the two men told his friend he would sleep in the house. The other remembered one of the few masters' words not to sleep where it was too cozy and not to trust a wife's sweet words, so he slept in the wood.

The lazy guy told his wife about the gold and where they hid it. Alas, at that moment he was oblivious to two facts. First, his wife over the years had had a romantic affair with another man, and second the lover was eavesdropping. He dug out the treasure pot and ran away to the wood where the other man was sleeping. So what did he do?

The thief lover was scared of a dark shape suddenly arising in front of him. So he dropped the gold pot. The friend who slept in the wood got lucky again. And so when his friend ran to him in panic, he calmly told his friend to take it easy, but nothing about the pot now in his possession.

The next day, the cheating wife was with her secret lover in the house when the two men unexpectedly showed up. The lover hid quickly in a wooden box, but the good friends saw it. So they picked the box up and told her they would sell it or throw it in the river if they couldn't get a buyer. The wife told her lover's rich father to buy the box.

Nobody knew how they negotiated, but eventually the lazy guy received the money, about half the value of the gold. And the wise man? He got the pot of gold and also the second half of the money. So ended the tale of two good pals.
