SangThong ('The Golden Light') Dried Fruit Factory, the oldest preserved-fruit factory in Chiangmai, was established in 1956 by Ung Tek Poung, an immigrant Chinese merchant. Applying Chinese preservation techniques to the abundant produce of Thailand, he built SangThong into a thriving and successful manufacturer of preserved mangoes, star apples, peaches and garlic.

Forty years later, we've grown from a small family-run business to become the region's leading producer of dried fruit, with clients throughout Asia. We've also expanded our range to encompass the vast variety of locally-available fruits.
