On behalf of the people of Chiangmai, I would like to extend our warmest
welcome to all visitors to the 'Rose of the North'.
Chiangmai has a long and colourful history, which stretches back for
more than 700 years. It is one of the very oldest cities in Thailand and
very well known among Thai people and foreigners as an attractive place
for sightseeing. It is also the centre of art and culture and at the same
time it has many conveniences for visitors such as resorts, hotels and
transportation. Besides, it is rich in resources for adventure travel and
ecotourism.
Moreover, visitors will be impressed by the hospitality and sincerity
of Chiangmai people.
These will be the attractions for most visitors to revisit Chiangmai
many times.
I am therefore proud to invite all of you to visit our fantastic city
and hope that you will find Chiangmai pleasant, beautiful and peaceful
during your stay.
